The Role:
We are seeking a Senior/Principal Consultant to play a leading role in delivering consultancy assignments and driving technical excellence, innovation, and strategic insight across our renewable energy projects. This role offers an opportunity to influence the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of wind farm operations globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with developers, wind turbine OEMs, technical experts, academics, supply chain partners, and agencies to deliver optimal solutions
- Deliver consultancy tasks for wind and other renewable energy developments including:
- Using data-driven insights to optimise operational performance and inform strategic decisions.
- Analysis and collation of information
- Identifying Risks and Opportunities and advising on management strategies
- Report writing
- Provide expertise across the complete lifecycle of renewable energy projects, from development and operations to decommissioning
- Lead on technical research projects, exploring emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Produce high-quality documents and industry papers, contributing to thought leadership
- Contribute to business development activities, identifying new opportunities and supporting growth initiatives.
- Represent Generating Better in technical forums, workshops, and collaborative industry settings
- Oversee internal systems management, ensuring smooth operation of tools and processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring best practices are implemented across projects
What We’re Looking For:
- Knowledge of operations and maintenance (O&M) and a strong network in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on wind energy and other renewable technologies.
- Strong technical writing and research skills, ideally with a proven record of published work.
- Strong project management skills
- Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders, including developers, OEMs, academics, and supply chain partners with an assured and confident approach to communication.
- Proven ability to analyse and use data (technical and commercial) to deliver actionable outcomes and strategic improvements.
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.
- Experience in areas such as logistics development/planning, including vessel operations, O&M cost analysis, asset management processes, risk mitigation/management, renewable energy technology (especially with a maintenance focus) would be an advantage
- Ability to work independently and remotely within a hybrid work environment, maintaining strong communication with teams and stakeholders
- Passion for driving efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability in O&M
- Willingness to travel internationally for short durations.
