Sally Lockwood – Managing Consultant
Sally Lockwood has worked in the Offshore Wind sector for over 15 years, and specialises in O&M strategy for development projects and operational wind farms.
As a former Operations Manager for E.ON her approach is based on the practical experience she has gained running offshore wind projects. Sally delivered the development of an active owner management model for E.ON and has expertise in setting up new operational site management teams, managing offshore wind service contracts and developing strong risk mitigation plans. Sally set up Generating Better in 2012 to address the need for expertise in Operations & Maintenance during the development phase of offshore wind projects. She has advised on projects in UK, Germany, France, Ireland, Taiwan, USA, Japan, Australia, South Korea, and Finland.
She also supports industry events, chairs the UK Offshore Wind Operators Forum and lectures on the Strathclyde University Offshore Masters Programme.
David Mitchell – Associate Consultant
David Mitchell has worked in the offshore wind energy sector for the last 15 years on behalf of a major developer and operator, performing a range of operational roles. His experience includes working with construction teams during commissioning hand over and operational site set up, through into end end of warranty planning and delivery. His responsibilities have included near and long-term scheduling, logistics & vessel management, and engineering duties, as well as being responsible for the High Voltage network and all safe systems of work, including the role of Senior Authorised Person. More recently David has been responsible for the implementation snd execution of site critical high value projects and maintenance campaigns, including major component exchanges and subsea management activities, site mid-life assessments and end of life planning.
David McMillan – Associate Consultant
David McMillan received the Ph.D. degree in wind turbine engineering in 2008, and continues to work part time as a Reader with the University of Strathclyde. He has been Principal Investigator on grants totalling over 1m, with a focus on cost reduction for wind energy in operational phase, working closely with operational offshore wind farms. David was instrumental in setting up the Offshore Wind Energy Masters Degree programme, and has inspired many PhD students.
David is passionate about understanding the performance of offshore wind farms, and understanding the factors which affect OPEX. He brings forward innovative ideas to drive down costs, improve safety and increase performance.
David is also co-director of TRIOS Renewables, providing expert O&M models and considering the impact that weather plays on accessibility and OPEX for offshore wind farms.
